Merry Merry Merry Christmas!

Well this week has been a very long and eventful one for this Clegg family! It has been so much fun though! It started on Tuesday with the annual Hancock Christmas Party (Shawn's mom's extended family) and what a party it was! There were a ton of people there! I think the highlight though, was Jaden sitting on santa's lap, he was quite intrigued! Of course santa's beard went right in his mouth though...gross!

The next day was not only Christmas Ever, but a VERY exciting day for Jaden! He officially turned 6 months old and got to try baby food! We decided to give it to him before all the Christmas Eve festivities and opted to go with squash!

He seemed to like it alright! He seemed less impressed with it as time went on but nonetheless it was very exciting and fun! He is growing up so fast!

Later that night we went up to Annie and Paul's for a fun Christmas Eve Celebration! Pauls family was in town from the Netherlands, so it was quite the get together and loads of fun! The Norats are always so generous about lending out their home! Thanks guys! Every year the kids get christmas pajamas from my mom, Elizabeth had a quite tramatic experience before this and was not in the mood for pictures...so here's one of Marissa and Jaden!

This is the football that my dad brought to the hospital the night Jaden was born. At the time it was bigger than him, so i thoughy it might be fun to take a picture of him with it at 6 months to show how much he's grown!

When we got home, we got to reap the bennifits of Jaden's new baby food and lets just say that because of that he got to open the pj's mom and dad got him for Christmas!

Then it was off to bed for the little one on his first Christmas!

The next morning it was time for more presents! Jaden LOVED his new saucer...especially everything on it that he could eat!

Then it was off to Grandmas and Grandpa Clegg's for Christmas Dinner and yep, you guessed it, more presents! Jaden loves wrapping paper!

What a great week! What a great Christmas! We are so very blessed this year! It was so much fun to have Jaden experience his first Christmas! He was spoiled rotten as usual and loved every minute of it! We are so grateful for the holiday season and all that it represents! For our family and friends, for our health and all the many things we are blessed with every day! We hope you all had an amazing Christmas and took a moment to realize just how lucky you are too! Merry Christmas!

Christmas Pictures!

So today we went to get all the grandkids pictures taken for Christmas!! As most of you know, Jaden is the only boy so far on my side, and I must say quite the little stud! He has the cutest cousins ever though and we actually got a decent pic!

Then Jaden got his own picture taken, just for kicks, It wasn't my favorite but still really cute! I was hoping to get a picture of him smiling, but he was totally done by the time we got to him! Luckily even so tired he could barely keep his eyes open, he was still adorable! Gotta love it! Thats right...thats my kid!

The Happiest Time of the Year!

I'm so excited for the holidays this year! I always love the holidays, but this year, having Jaden in our little family has made them even better than I could have imagined! He is such a good fun baby and we love him so much! This year for thanksgiving we had a relatively small get together, it was just Shawns parents, Grandma and us, it was nice to spend some one on one time together! Shawn and I have SO much to be grateful for and feel so overly blessed! We have eachother, a beautiful, healthy little boy, amazing families, our jobs, the gospel, I could go on and on...and on! I hope everyone takes the time to realize just how much we all have and enjoy the true meaning of this season! Here are some fun pics from thanksgiving and a few bonuses!

Shawn and I decided that for our christmas cards this year we are just going to take the pictures ourselves, and...since we have a baby.... we don't have to be in them! :) HOORAY! Jaden is much cuter anyways! So yesterday I went and got a fun little santa hat for him and we took some pictures last night! I guess my philosophy is with a baby this cute, do we really need a professional!? Okay, he's getting his pics taken with his cousins professionally next week, but look at how cute these pics are and you'll see that I mean!

Buddies

This last week Jaden had a playdate with Connor and Tristan! I was in a student ward with Connor and Tristan's mom's back in the day (Sally and Nichole) and we have always been very close friends! We didn't even know we were all preggo until we were all over 3 months along, so it has been fun getting together and having boys the same age! Well we got kinda bored so we decided to take pics of the boys together! Aren't they cute!

Then for those of you who know anything about our dear sweet little Jaden, you know that he DOES NOT like to sleep any way but bunddled very tight with 2 recieving blankets and a snuggler that velcros! Well apparently that's only at night, because today I decided I was going to try to put him down for a nap just in his crib unswaddled. This was a crazy idea for me because last night he got his fingers up out of his swaddle twice and woke up each time! I tried to let him put himself back to sleep but after 2 hrs of waking up every 5 min, crying for ten and then repeating I was just done! I gave in and rebunddled him. Maybe we are on our way though because he has now been asleep almost 45 min unswaddled!!! HOORAY!!! Good job little guy!

Jaden also turned 5 months old yesterday! He's getting SO big!

So Funny

Okay, so Jaden thinks he is just SO funnny! Lately he's gotten in the habit of eating him bumbo instead of sitting in it. When I went to take a picture of him doing so, we played this little game!

Stud of the Day!

We went out this week and got Jaden some new snow gear, this is my favorite! Lets be honest, it doesn't get much cuter than this!

Such a happy little guy

Lately Jaden has started to really get into reaching for things, he hates laying on his tummy still, so when we lay him down on it he automatically just rolls onto his back! I love it! He is also becoming quite the little independent sitter! (though he is not such a fan of this either) The other day he sat by himself for a good 15 seconds! Oh the simple joys of a new mother! :) You can see in this picture just how much he enjoys this new activity haha!

Trick or Treat

Hooray for Halloween and Hooray its over! What a long but fun day! Jaden and I started up the morning by heading to shawns work for "cubical trick or treating" and Jaden was a hit! Who wouldn't love this little dragon though eh!? Then we headed to Nanna's work so she could see him and then off to visit with the cousins! Elizabeth and Marissa were dressed up so cute! After that we helped Auntie Amy bake some eyeball cookies and then off to see more cousins down in Lehi! We went trunk or treating with Trent and Michelle and the kids and then off we went to Grandma Cleggs, where we decorated cookies and had a grand old time! I know it sounds like we spent the entire day driving from one place to another, and we kinda did...but we had a great time! Jaden is blabbering so much now! I bet he had a 10 minute conversation with Grandpa Clegg that night! I wasn't as camera happy as I should have been but here are some fun pictures!

About a week ago I decided to go get Jaden a bumbo! When I first saw them I thought they were ridiculously overpriced and kinda lame.... Well I have to say I have somewhat changed my mind. I still think they are ridiculously overpriced...but so great!!!! Jaden loves his! We went out to dinner the night we got it and Jaden sat at the table with us for over an hour, completely content just hanging out! SO for those of you considering buying one....I say go for it! Here he is in it on Halloween! In his little orange get up Nanna got for him!

4 Months Old

Today was Jaden's 4 month doctors appointment, I can't believe how fast he is growing up! He is now 13 lbs 3.5 oz and 22.5 inches long. I you're thinking to yourself, isnt that kinda small...well yes it is, but considering how little he was when he was born, he's doing great! He's in the 5th precentile for his weight and...well....not quite on the chart in height! He's just a little guy and we love him! He is so happy and so much fun! I feel like its been awhile since I updated and so I figured I'd post some pictures and let you see how he's growing!

Jaden had his first tast of rice cereal this last week. He's so independent he wanted to feed himself!

I guess eating tuckered him out because before we knew it he was out cold!

Jaden is still not a fan of tummy time but he sure is great at it!

We have figured out a trick lately, if we set a mirror in front of Jaden he seems to not

mind it so much!

Jaden also loves to sit with daddy and do homework!

I hope he's learning a lot! He looks a little overwhelmed to me!

Another one of his FAVORITE things to do is to sit up on my calves when I am laying on the floor and look down at me! He also loves to try to crawl over my knees and slide down my thighs onto my tummy ( I take total responsibility for teaching him this game ) ! He is such an adrenaline junky! as soon as he hit my tummy he just starts smiling ant talking! Its great!

Danica and Jaden have SO much fun together! She is such a big helper and so much fun!

Jaden is such a joy and we love him so much! He is so happy all the time and loves to smile at everyone who talks to him! He charms all the ladiesat church! These past 4 months have gone by SO fast and we are SO excited for sll thst lays ahead!

Spare time and Photo Shop

So my brother in law Lee emailed this to me. Apparently this is how the rebel in me would have had my wedding. What do you think!? He knows me way too well eh!? Gotta love it! Thanks Lee! I love the tatoo, oh and I am quite impressed you even re color coordinated my sash with Shawn's tie! You're the best!

Water Baby!

This weekend Jaden went swimming for his first time ever and LOVED it! Our good friends Tyler and Sarah invited us to a pool party/BBQ. It was a lot of fun! We got to just hang out and catch up with some friends we haven't seen in a long time! We didn't get in the pool until about 8, but Jaden had so much fun! (it helped that the pool was SO warm, thanks for that guys) Here are a few pictures of Daddy and Jaden!

A Day at the Dino Museum

Today Shawn and I took Danica and Jaden to the Dinosaur Museum! What a fun day! Jaden even got to wear real "big boy" clothes! You guessed, it....0-3 months here we come! True tomorrow Jaden is 3 months and he is just barely fitting into newborn, so maybe putting him in 0-3 months is pushing it, and they might be a little too big...but we couldn't help it! He just looked so cute! Anyways here are some pictures from our fun day.
