Tis The Season!

I have always loved the Christmas season and this year is no exception! In fact, I am loving it more than ever this year! I contribute that, to the joys of having children!! Jaden is SO excited for Christmas this year! He is starting to understand everything and thinks that every night he can hear Santa coming to his house! :)
He knows that Santa comes down the chimney, comes when he is sleeping, leaves presents and fills his stocking! He has sat on Santa's lap twice this year (I would have pictures but I refused to pay 25 bucks for them) without being scared at all and actually had a conversation with him, telling him just what he wants for Christmas!
I have also been trying to explain to him the TRUE meaning of Christmas and Jesus's birth, but he prefers to discuss Santa....we're working on it!

With having Ella, we have not been out and about as much as usual, but here are some pictures of what we have been up to!

This year we got a real tree again, I love real trees, here is Jaden and Daddy decorating the tree..

and Jaden hugging the tree....

before we got the tree Jaden said he wanted Santa to bring him one for Christmas, but now that we have one, he has decided that a guitar is his present of choice...

Ella prefers to contribute the festivities in the following ways....

Isn't she cute! We sure love her! She had her 2 week appointment about 2 weeks ago and had already put on a full pound from her birth weight...she is getting so big!! I can't believe she is a month old today! Time goes too fast!

We also had the Buck Family Christmas Extravaganza this month and it was SO much fun! This year we had it up at my house and I am thankful for that! Having so many little ones made it quite the day! My mom has 7 grandchildren ages 4 and under...so it was a party as you can imagine!
Here is Meagan and Jaden playing in Ella's bed...

We had so much fun! We decorated Christmas Sugar cookies and made crafts and the kids had a blast just playing with each other and in the bounce house!

Every year my mom gets the kids Christmas jammies! Here is Jaden in his after the party had died down and we decided to have a movie night with mom and nana!

and here again is my sweet Ella, I'm working on getting pictures of her with her eyes open!! :)

Another thing we experienced so far this year that was not my favorite was Daddy's first business trip! Shawn headed to New York to meet everyone and work up at the G2 main office for a week....it was a very LONG week! This was the longest I have ever been without Shawn since we have been married.... Well we survived but we missed him so much we hope he doesn't have to go again for a very long time!

He did come home with some great gifts though so that was fun! Here is Jaden getting ready to play "ockey" in his new Beckham jersey!

We Cleggs are a BYU loving family! This past weekend Shawn's parents and our niece Hayley came up to watch the bowl game with us! Being away from family in this holiday season has really made us appreciate the time that we have with them! We are so blessed to have such caring and loving families and are truly cherishing the times that we get to spend with them! Oh and nicely done Cougars!

Well, I think that just about sums up the last few weeks with us...I will try to get more consistent in my blogging, but we are still adjusting a bit to the chaos we call our lives! We hope all of you are well and enjoying the holiday season with your loved ones too! Merry Christmas!

As of Late with Ella Kate

So we have been home from the hospital for about a week and a half. The first week we were home I was VERY lucky and Shawn got the entire week off to help me out and let me tell you, I took full advantage of him!

Just a heads up, this might end up being a long post so prepare yourself......but here is the story of Ella Kate with an update as well...

Jaden on his last day as an only child!
Since I hadn't progressed in almost a month and hadn't had a single contraction, my dr and I decided that it might just be best to go ahead with another c section. I really wanted to try for a vbac but in the end this truly ended up being the best choice, during the surgery my dr turned to Shawn and told him that we made the right choice because if I had started to contract we could have had some serious problems and possibly a uterine rupture (sorry if thats too much info), so it ended up working out for the best. They even had to use a vacuum to get sweet little Ella out...3 TIMES!!! She was pretty comfortable in there with no intention of working her way out! But anyways, after changing the surgery time about 3 times in less than 24 hrs, friday morning we headed to the hospital....and lo and behold we were blessed with this perfect little girl!

During the surgery Shawn's parents took Jaden to the Treehouse Museum and then brought him up to the hospital...I thought he might have a hard time leaving me....not so much :) once he knew he was going to the museum with grandma and grandpa he was good to go! When he got back he was SO excited to meet "baby siser"!!

He has been so sweet and so gentle with her, he absolutely ADORES her! My mom came up and stayed with Jaden the remainder of our hospital stay and he was in heaven being able to play with his Nana all day!

The day we were supposed to go home Ella Kate's billiruben was high and so we had to stay and extra day with her under the lights, but we could have them in our room which was great!! Jaden also thought these were pretty cool!

Finally it was time to go home! Here is Jaden and Ella getting ready to go!

This is Ella's one eyed pirate face ... she already has something in common with her brother!

Like I said, Jaden LOVES his sister! He always wants to hug and hold and kiss her! My favorite thing he has been doing as of late, is every time we are home with just the 3 of us and I tell him I love him he says, "I love bof of you"

Snuggling with Daddy! Shawn is SO happy to have a baby girl! Jaden never really snuggled!

All dressed up on Thanksgiving!

Shawn was SUCH and incredible help with Jaden while he was here! It never ceases to amaze me what a great daddy he is and how naturally it comes to him! We are SO lucky to have him!

Here is Jaden and Shawn playing in the snow!

This next picture is a perfect testament to how great my husband is! My mom got Jaden a new tent when the baby came hoping, it would occupy him enough to give me a little break! Well, while driving home from the hospital, Shawn throws the idea out to me of he and Jaden having a sleep over in the tent one night (yes he came up with this all on his own)! Well I told him that it was a very ambitious idea! :) But that it was up to him... Well after much discussion on the pros and cons he opted for a nap time camp out! Jaden had a blast, and is one lucky kid to have a dad that would sleep on the floor in a kids tent for him!
I'm still getting the hang of having 2 kids but we are getting it, little by little...we spend a lot of time like this in our jammies just hanging out!
I feel SO blessed to have these two little muchkins!!! Jaden has been SO great and Ella is so patient and so calm compared to her brother! They are VERY different, but both wonderful! I couldn't have asked for more! For the last month or so I have had this overwhelming feeling of gratitude for all of the blessings in my life! Especially my family! Being a mom is such a great blessing and I love it! I love my kids and my husband and thank Heaven every day for each of them! I'm constantly overcome with appreciation for how blessed we are!
Then I look out the window, and see a beautiful sunset like this (excuse the shotty photography I was rocky a baby to sleep) and can't help but get excited for the Christmas season and all it brings with it!
I hope all is well with all of you...up here things are pretty great!!!

100th Post

So...I was hoping that my 100th post would be announcing the birth of our sweet little girl, unfortunately....no such luck.
With Jaden being born at 37 weeks to the day, we figured this little one would be early as well... but just as everything in this pregnancy has been completely different than Jaden's, it looks like delivery will be as well! :) So as anxious as I am to meet this little girl, I am trying (not very successfully) to be patient. In the meantime, here is our Halloween Post :)

This year has been SO much fun with Jaden. He enjoyed Halloween last year but is really starting to get it all this year and he had a blast, and so did we!

We did a lot of fun Halloween crafts this year...As you can see in this picture, most of everything ends up on jaden instead of the craft!
Since Jaden is getting older and really starting to get into the holidays, I decided we should really start deciding on some fun family traditions that we can do every year! I LOVE traditions! I think its what makes holidays so great! We decided that for FHE the week of Halloween we would carve pumpkins, Jaden was SO excited! We had bought a little scarecrow for our front porch and Jaden decided that it was his "buddy" for the first few days we had him, Jaden wouldn't let me put him outside by himself, so when we got the pumpkin, Jaden was so excited that it could keep his "buddy" company! Then when we made it a Jack-o-lantern, he thought it was even better!

Daddy and Jaden getting ready to carve!

Jaden is his father's child and DID NOT want to get his hands messy, even to carve the pumpkin

But he still had a blast

The finished product....obviously Shawn and I don't have a ton of pumpkin carving experience :)

Since Jaden is SO into pirates, that's what we decided he should be for Halloween!
I couldn't find a pirate costume I loved...so I just kind of put one together...my mom hooked us up with a bunch of accessories that Jaden LOVED and this is what we ended up with!

Jaden and his "buddy"
Jaden and Daddy at the Clegg Halloween Party
This year the Party was on Saturday the 30th and since the houses are so far apart in Eden, its hard to trick or treat with a toddler, so it worked out well to be in Lehi, and it was great to see and be with family!
Eating his HUGE pumpkin sugar cook Grandma Clegg made him
Trick or treating in the POURING rain!!!
Each pregnancy I agree to take 1 picture for the baby book, so baby girl this one is for you!
Mom at 37 weeks

Hopefully our next post will be baby girl!

October Festivities!

So this last week was the Buck Family Annual Halloween Party! We decided to do it a little different this year. It is SO hard to coordinate schedules so we decided to do it early this year, we also decided to do it without our husbands! They are such good sports and always come, but they don't really enjoy it, so we decided to spare them and make it an all day event!

We started off going to Barnyard Boo at Thanksgiving Point! The kids had a ball!
Here is Jaden and Libby..This is how Jaden felt about pictures that day....

Jaden was SO excited about the horses, we live with them all around us but actually getting to ride one made his day! He only wanted to ride the "baby" ones though and held my finger the entire time, so when I let go to take a picture...there was no way I was going to get a smile!

Jaden is ALL BOY and other than pirates, right now he is VERY into monsters, so he was VERY excited to win his prize!

He refused to get his face painted but let me put a "witch" tattoo on his cheek!

Playing a game

After Barnyard Boo we headed to Rachels to meet my parents and have some soup and then we headed to the pumpkin patch for the kids to get their pumpkins! Amy was a trooper and hauled all the kids in a wheel barrel!
After the pumpkin patch we headed back to Rachels and painted the pumpkins and decorated sugar cookies. By the end of the night the kids were exhausted! They had such a great time and it was so great to spend time with family, not living close sure makes you appreciate it more!

When Jaden and I head to Ogden for my dr apts, I try to make a fun day of it, well I have heard so much about the Treehouse Museum, we decided to go after my last apt, and I'm so glad we did! What a fun place!!! I ended up getting a pass so that we can go back a lot this winter! There is room for Jaden to run around and they have so many things that he loves there!

Here he is driving the fire truck

Milking a cow...

Riding a bull (we spent most of our time here!)
We had so much fun playing, I didn't get a chance to take as many pictures as I would have liked!
It really is such a great place, so if you haven't gone, you should! Call us and we will even come meet you!

As Of Late

Well its been a little while since our last post and although we haven't been on any super cool adventures or done anything too exciting, I thought I'd just update you on life here in Eden.

Shawn has been coaching 3 soccer teams this fall so every Saturday is full of soccer games and Jaden loves it! Shawn also introduced him to the Adidas sign on his warm up suit the other day...now he refuses to wear anything without it on it...but we're getting through that I hope! :) Thanks daddy! The other day J and I were doing laundry and he was going through dad's soccer bag and found a spare pair of shin guards and a whistle, he thought he was pretty stinkin cool!

I've been trying to come up with funlittle things for us to do together while we have our one on one time, so this last week we made sugar cookies, it was a lot of fun but all I had were easter shapes so we had to pretend the eggs were footballs...don't worry I added halloween cookie cutters to the grocery list and we will try again in the next few weeks!

Another think that Jaden is REALLY into is tools! last christmas he got a little tool set and he always wants to fix EVERYTHING! If I say its broken Jaden automatically says "I fix it" and runs off to find his tool box, its pretty cute! When I ask him if he needs help he always responds, "No, Big Boy Mom" this has become his most commonly used phrase! The sad thing is that it's true, he's getting so big and independent! Well the other day I was doing dishes and I turned around to find this....

Apparently Jaden decided that HE was broken and needed to be fixed! I laughed pretty hard and he thought he was pretty funny!

Jaden is also VERY into pirates!!! He loves to walk around saying "Arg" and "yo ho ho" My mom picked him up a pirate hat and sword and a few other things at the costume shop and we end up playing pirates just about every day!
I'm enjoying every moment I have with me and my "big boy"! He is growing up so fast and talking up a storm, he likes to "write" his name, look for "neighs" and "moos" whenever we go for a drive, play in baby sisters room, read books and run around as a dinosaur monster or pirate! I can't believe how much he is learning every day and how his imagination is growing too! I'm lucky to be his mommy!

Other than soccer, Shawn has just been working and going to school. He's busy all the time but enjoys what he does and boy oh boy does that make a difference! He will be finished with school in March and I can't wait!

As for me, I'm just along for the ride! :) I'm adjusting more and more to being alone up here, and loving it more and more. It's a much slower pace, but its good for me! We are just trying to get everything ready for baby girl and the holidays coming up! The next few months should be quite the learning experience! Well thats the latest with us!
