Red White and Blue go Country!

I LOVE the 4th of July! It is definitely my favorite holiday! I love the sunshine I love the time spent with family I love the food, I love that there are no presents involved, but that new outfits are a must! I love the fireworks! This year was no exception and was probably one of my most favorite yet!

Every year Liberty has this great red neck, if you will. fourth of July celebration that is just so much fun!  There is everything from muttin bustin to chicken catch to catching fish with your bare hands! There are bounce houses , shopping booths, and carnival games!

This year Jaden wanted to do it all! He was so excited! A few weeks out of the blue Jaden told me he wanted to ride the sheep at the 4th of July. For those of you who know Jade, I was a little shocked but excited that he would even want to, so I said ok! He started riding Duke all over saying he was practicing for the sheep! It was pretty hilraious! Well as the 4th approached I honestly didn't think he would do it, so I had Shawn take him and I videoed, (but it wont load for some reason ) knowing the chances of him getting on were much better that way! He did a great job, he got just out of the gate before being bucked! He was so brave though and not a tear was shed! We were so proud of him, and he wants to do it again next year!

Jaden also did the cake walk the chicken catch (no chicken this year) the stick horse races and the sawdust dig! Then of course was the fish catch! Jaden was SO excited! Right before they went in they dumped some huge fish in for the kids to catch. Shawn was as excited as they were! He was looking for them when they got in when Jaden turned to him and said "daddy, i already got one" Sure enough, my 4 year old had caught a trout in his bad ALL BY HIMSELF!!! He was sure proud...so were we!

 Stick horse race
Sadly this is the only picture I got of Jaden and Ella together all day, dropped the ball!!
They sure are cute though!
This year was also so great because not only did we have Shawn's parents up but Shawn's sister Amy and her family came up too! We had a great time and after the festivities headed back to our house for a bareque and home made ice cream! We had so much fun! They had to leave early but we ventured back out for the fireworks at Liberty park! For about an hour before the fireworks started they had music playing on large speakers and the kids had a ball dancing...again no pictures sorry!

It is a tradition in Shawns family to go up to the Oakley Rodeo over the 4th weekend and it is a tradition we LOVE!! Shawn's family has a cabin up my Smith and Moorehouse so we headed up Friday, went to the rodeo and then stayed the night! Jaden loved every minute of the rodeo and so did his daddy!
Ella was on my lap and super wiggly so no pictures of us :)

After a late night of fun the next morning after a nice run we headed to the lake for some fishing! Jaden got to use his fishing pole grandma and grandpa got him for the very first time!!
Ella of course wanted in on the action! Cute Hayley was nice enough to share with her! Look like a purchase is in order before we head up again :)
 Playin in the dirt!
 Daddy fishing
Jaden's first real fishing trip...he thought it was pretty cool but kinda boring sometimes!
 All the boys...

Amy was the greatest and took the kids on lots for 4 wheeler rides!

We had such a great time and wish it could have lasted longer! Can't wait for next year!

Carver's Cove

Jaden's preschool had an end of year field trip and I was lucky enough to be able to bring Ella bug too!
We went to Carever's Cove right here in Eden. It's a cute little petting zoo and the kids had a blast!!

His cass and the 4 year old class hanging out on the swings!

Riding the horse!! Kinda a big deal for the J man! Ella rode the horse too but I was standing next to her so unfortunately no pictures were taken of that!

3 month update...be prepared for pictures!!!

Oh I could give you all sorts of excuses....but I'll spare you....if anyone even reads my blog anymore, and just give you an update of the past 3 months, I hope you like pictures!!!!

The end of February left us with all sorts of surprises...like this lake in our back yard!! Thanks to many tender mercies from heaven and neighbors we were able to contain the water and didn't flood!!

We went and met my sisters at discovery gateway to celebrate my nephew's birthday and the kids had a ball

Ella thinks she's the cargo

I think this was Jaden's favorite area...he would have stayed there all day...and he kinda did!
 My cute Ella bug!
 J man in the water!
March left us with lots of fun lazy days at home!

Some in the bounce house.....
 Some snuggling on the couch...
 and some just being silly!!
 We had playdates with friends!
 Did some fun art projects...
Even hit the zoo with our cousins!
 we rode the train
 and even played musical strollers!!!
Then April came which brought on EASTER!!

We dyed Easter eggs...

and the Easter Bunny even stopped by, hid our eggs, and left us some treats!

 Ella going for Jaden's treats...
On Easter morning we got all dressed up and headed off to church
We had a few Easter parties....one with my mom and sisters and all the cousins..

Ella LOVED the Easter egg hunt!!! She's obviously my child and LOVES sweets....
 My cute kiddos!!
I can't believe how grown up my Jaden is!!
 All the cousins!!

Then we had our Easter egg hunt with the Cleggs!!

Look at that cheesy grin!!

 Checking out their loot!

All smiles...

Shawn gets good friday off so we have kind of made it a tradition to go to a movie as a family. This year we went saw the Lorax. Jaden LOVED it! He thinks going to the movies is the coolest! Ella sat through a little while of it...then I spent the rest of the movie chasing her around the halls of the theater....oh the joys!

Before the movie we went to Warrens for some yummy ice cream and shakes!
Oh what a little daddy's girl!
Ella is in a very independent phase and INSISTED on eating her shake all by herself with a spoon, and she actually did a really great job!

Now...for the biggest news of all!!!
Shawn had been bugging me about getting a new dog...we finally decided we would talk about it later this summer....
Well our good family friends, my old employers, and Shawn's boss's family (all one family :) ) got a new puppy so after a trip to Salt Lake for Shawn's grandma's 90th birthday, Shawn suggested we stop off on the way home to see their new puppy they had just gotten that day....

Well after seeing the puppy Uncle Scott proceeds to tell the kids he has a suprise for the and goes into the office and gets a big box....yep...you guessed it, he and my husband conspired against me...and thus let me introduce you to Piper!

Lucky for Shawn, she actually is an adorably sweet dog with a great temperament! She does pretty good at night (except last night) and the kids ADORE her!! Welcome to the family little Piper!
